After the Spitfire in 2020, the Aviation and History series presents two aircraft that have marked aviation. The Alpha Jet which celebrates its 40th anniversary, and the P-51 Mustang called "Apache".
Aviation and history
This series is conceived as a tribute to the aircraft that have most marked the history of aviation. The drawing of the aircraft has been entrusted to Romain Hugault, a specialist recognized both in the world of aviation and in the world of comics, under the artistic direction of Joaquin Jimenez.

In 2019, the Aviation and History series will focus on the P-38, which is celebrating the 80th anniversary of its first flight. It is also the plane in which the French writer-pilot Antoine de Saint-Exupéry disappeared 75 years ago, on 31 July 1944.
2018 : dakota c47

Created in 1936 by McDonell Douglas, the Dakota C47 was used for air transport, particularly during the 1944 landings. One of the most famous pages of this aircraft remains the Berlin airlift set up in 1948 to supply West Berlin, cut off by the Soviet blockade. 2018 marks the 70th anniversary of this event.

The name of the Transall is derived from the contraction of Transport and Allianz and is symbolic of the Franco-German collaboration that created this transport aircraft in 1963. This robust aircraft used by many countries will celebrate its 55th anniversary in 2018.

Built by Airbus, the A380 is the largest civil airliner in service. The first commercial flight of the A380 took place in 2007 between Singapore and Sydney. It is the 10th anniversary of this flight that the Monnaie de Paris is commemorating in 2017.

The Spirit of Saint-Louis was the first aircraft to successfully cross the Atlantic Ocean from New York to Paris. Piloted by the American aviator Charles Lindbergh, the trip from West to East lasted two days: 20 and 21 May 1927. The year 2017 celebrates the 90th anniversary of this first transatlantic flight.
