Monnaie de Paris unveils a collection dedicated to the universe of Lucky Luke, celebrating in 2021 the 75th anniversary of the lone cowboy, a few months after the release of the new album of the series, A Cowboy in high cotton.

Main antagonists of the famous Cow-Boy in the comic, the Dalton brothers are in the spotlight on the 50€ coloured silver coin. The 4 bandits are arrested by Lucky Luke crossing the city under the watchful eye of the vultures.

As a tribute to the last comics boxes, the obverse of the 100€ Gold coin presents Lucky Luke and Jolly Jumper under the sunset of Colorado. The cowboy and his loyal horse move away towards the sun in which we find the inscription of the author Morris.

A COW-BOY IN HIGH COTTON
We discover one of the illustrations of the new opus of Lucky Luke, A Cowboy in high cotton, on the obverse of the colorized 10€ silver coin. Morris' character rides his faithful steed Jolly Jumper on his arrival in Louisiana. The reverse shows a well-known image of the hero, which can be found on the back of many comics, on which he draws faster than his shadow, confirming that he is the fastest shooter of the west!
BASS REEVES
BASS REEVES
On the obverse of the 50€ gold coin, we can see Lucky Luke in the middle of a cotton field, accompanied by Bass Reeves. The latter did indeed exist. He was one of the first black marshals to officiate west of the Mississippi in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The reverse, common to the series, mentions the vintage and the face value of the coin, but also the 75th anniversary of the fastest shooter in the west.

In 2021, Monnaie de Paris proposes a second coin set presenting the 2021 coins. It uses the visual of the 100€ Gold coin where Lucky Luke and Jolly Jumper travel through Colorado under the sunset. Monnaie de Paris logo on the traditional yellow banner is also present.

This medal celebrates the 75th anniversary of Lucky Luke by illustrating the iconic characters of the comic on the obverse. The cowboy and his faithful horse Jolly Jumper are colored with a translucent resin just like the title of the series. The reverse is fully customizable.
