BABEL II by Robert Alice

As the historic site of the Monnaie de Paris celebrates its 250th anniversary in 2025, a new display of works within the museum by artist Robert Alice symbolizes a bridge between historical heritage and technological innovation. The artist's new series, Stasis Fields, explores the technological idea of singularity and its popular visual association with black holes.

Since the BABEL exhibition in 2023, several works by Robert Alice have joined the historic collections of La Monnaie de Paris, reinforcing the institution's position as one of the first museums to integrate NFT works into its permanent collections. You can also discover these 21st-century works on the museum's online collections portal, with a sneak preview of other acquisitions that have joined the Monnaie de Paris heritage collections.

Our collections

The primary mission of the museum of Monnaie de Paris is to promote the institution's collections, in accordance with the Epic's statutes. It was awarded the "Musée de France" label in 2002 and must fulfill its own regalian missions: the conservation, presentation and dissemination of public heritage assets under its management.

This month, the Monnaie de Paris' historical collections online portal highlights the various coins and medals created by Georges Mathieu and featured in the exhibition Georges Mathieu. Geste, vitesse, mouvement.
