The sower - 20 years of the euro

In 2022, 20 years after the first euros were put into circulation and one year after the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Starter Kit, Monnaie de Paris celebrates the second part of the euro's anniversary with a collection of gold and silver coins.

The 20th anniversary of the euro is a major event for the world of numismatics. I felt it was important to pay tribute to the franc, which gave up its place to the common European currency in January 2002. These coins therefore feature an olive branch next to the franc symbol. Like a chronological frieze, this one leaves its place to the euro initials, accompanied by the tree of life present on the obverse of the €1 and €2 coins.

Emblematic coins

This rectangular coin is a second tribute to the European currency. The face of the coin is broken down like a chronological frieze, with the French franc symbol accompanied by an olive branch on the left. On the right, the Euro symbol encircles Joaquin Jiménez's "Tree of Life", drawn in 1997. The reverse side is identical to that of the 2021 Sower collection.
