In 2023, the Museum Masterpieces series illustrates 3 major works featuring women in art including one of Kitagawa Utamaro's works: Young Girl Blowing into a Glass Pipe.

Linking three works from different eras, by different artists is a challenge for the printmaking workshop with the desire to celebrate women as artists and muses.

The face of these coins depicts one of Kitagawa Utamaro's works: Young girl blowing into a glass pipe, painted in 1794. We can distinguish the Dome of the Guimet Museum Library on the 50€ and 10€ coins. The reverse side is common to the series, it presents a mixture of views from several major French museums.
