Famous headgear and emblem of Napoleon, the bicorn hat is celebrate on these 10€ silver coin and 200€ gold coin. On the face, we find the grenadiers of the guard while the allegory of justice, symbolizing the civil reforms, is on the right. The Legion of Honour makes the link between the military and the civilian world and the French cockade completes the decor. The reverse of these bicorn-shaped coins shows the emperor’s silhouette in front of the Austerlitz sun and surrounded by various symbols of the Napoleonic era such as the eagle, bees and laurels.

In this bicentenary year of Napoleon I’s passing away, we wanted to highlight one of the graphic icons of the Napoleonic era : the bicorn. We used it in several forms and made it a real "communication" vector. Indeed, on several products, it is a real mise en abyme where the bicorn is the object that carries the allegories and symbols of the Napoleonic heritage, whether civil or military!
