In 2022, Monnaie de Paris pays a second tribute to J.K. Rowling's work by minting a collection of coins and medals dedicated to Harry and the wizarding world.
The obverse of this silver coin features Fawkes, Professor Dumbledore's phoenix. Reborn from his own ashes, Fumsek repeatedly helped the famous wizard trio Harry, Ron and Hermione in their fight against the dark wizard Voldemort.
The reverse of this coin features the coloured coat of arms of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The house emblems are shown here above the school motto: "Draco Dormiens Nunquam Titillandus" meaning "Don't tickle a sleeping dragon". Under the coat of arms is the face value of this coin.

Using industrial oil-based modelling clay and working from a design executed freehand or with CAD software, they skilfully fashion a low relief model in order to enhance the engraving and the way it catches the light. They work alternately with concave and convex plaster moulds until satisfied they have achieved the best 3D rendering of the design.
The first minters began to ply their trade in France when striking with a hammer appeared in the 4th century BC. Nowdays, minsters use press instead of a hammer. Their knowledge of dies, engraving and metals, and their expertise - passed seamlessly down from one generation to the next for centuries - guarantees the excellence of their work.
