Aviation and history - a380

Airbus A380 is the biggest passenger plane in the skies with its jumbo size and its double decks, the A380 project was launched in 1990. The plane made its first commercial flight in 2007, fliyng from Singapore to Sydney. In 2017, Monnaie de Paris is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the A380’s first commercial flight.

This new series on aviation and history has been designed to pay tribute to the planes that left the greatest marks on the history of aviation. From the Spirit of Saint Louis to the most modern planes such as the A380, all plane types and eras are featured.

The reverse, common to the series, features the profiles of two pilots, symbolising the different eras and types of use: civil and military.
