The Summer Olympic games that will take place in Paris in 2024 are the opportunity, for Monnaie de Paris to celebrate this major international competition through a series celebrating Sport, its values and the athletes. Olympism and Paralympism will be highlighted on those products, struck in France in our art workshops.
In 2023, we are developing a collection of medallions representing the 26 letters of the Alphabet illustrated by 26 Olympic and Paralympic sports.
Diving is a parent discipline of swimming that became popular in Sweden and Germany in the 19th century. The discipline was included in the Olympic programme from 1904, at the Saint Louis Games. Two types of diving events are offered: the three-metre springboard and the high-flying platform, set at a height of ten metres.
The Collection
