Throughout

2024 marks the arrival of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in France. It was obvious for Monnaie de Paris to highlight them once again through their representatives: the mascots. These fun and friendly little Phrygian hats are already familiar to the French and embody the spirits of the Games. This year, they symbolise the Games as they arrive and spread throughout France. A perfect reason to showcase the natural and architectural heritage that make the country beautiful.
On this coin, in the
middle of the Carnac alignments, made up of menhirs and dolmens, the Olympic
Games mascot looks like a sailor, proudly wearing a sailor suit and a bonnet of
marine. In the background, a Breton house by the sea and a lighthouse in the
middle of the water symbolize the architecture of the region.
