Treasures of paris - champs élysées

Since 2019, Monnaie de Paris has been celebrating the "City of Light" through its Treasures of Paris series, with coins containing gold deposits. After the lighthouse of the Eiffel Tower, it is the illuminations of the Champs-Elysées and the flame of the unknown soldier, under the Arc de Triomphe, which are highlighted this year.

Emblematic coins

The "most beautiful avenue of the world" is represented, at night, with its Christmas illuminations, on the obverse of the coins. In the foreground we distinguish the point of the obelisk from the Place de la Concorde, which thus reflects the angle of the shot; while the flame of the unknown soldier, which celebrates its 100 years in 2020, burns, in the background, under the Arc de Triomphe. The reverse, common to the entire Treasures of Paris series, offers a modern view of the map of Paris and its arrondissements, represented by small pyramids. The series name, the engraving differences and the face value are inscribed around the Paris map.
