The Monnaie de Paris welcomes adults and children alike to discover one of the oldest institutions in the world, and, more importantly, one of the oldest factories still in operation in Paris.
Follow this tour, from the mine to the treasury, to learn about the stages involved in the manufacture of coins, medals and many other objects crafted at the Monnaie de Paris. Including a view of some of the still-operational workshops and a demonstration by an engraver in the middle of the visit (find out more), the tour, which is designed to suit all ages, will reveal to you the artisans’ secrets. Smell the metal that is being worked, listen out for the noises from the factory floor, gaze on Dame Fortune, who watches over the production, and have an enjoyable time with the family!
Accompanied by an expert guide, this is your chance to become mini minters and, who knows, perhaps to leave with a souvenir in your pocket!
