Adults and children alike, don your aprons and make a shiny medal in chocolate! Break, melt, mould and coat your chocolate to create a little masterpiece to munch.
You will discover the links between chocolate, metal and the know-how of the Monnaie de Paris, before creating your own chocolate medal.
Then, you will be invited to explore the museum on a tour that focusses on the foundry and the art of medal-making.
On your journey through the manufacuring process, you will discover the work of the Monnaie de Paris’ artisans – the production of alloys, the casting of molten metal, the moulding techniques – and see metal in all its forms!
Armed with your new knowledge, you will return to your own handiwork, learn about burnishing and, using a paintbrush, enhance in gold or bronze the two faces and the edge of your medal, which you can enjoy eating at home.
