UNESCO World Heritage - Palace of Pena

The UNESCO series resumes its journey by honoring monuments and places classified as world heritage. In 2023, Monnaie de Paris dedicates the UNESCO series to the National Palace of Pena, 185 years after its construction was completed. This magnificent palace is a historic Portuguese building located on one of the peaks of the mountains of Sintra, a city near Lisbon.

Emblematic coins

The 10 euro silver coin is colored and takes the colors of the Palace: red, purple, blue and yellow. On the face of this coin is engraved the portrait of Ferdinand II, King Consort of Portugal from 1837 to 1853 and the origin of this palace. The mosaics were inspired by those present in the palace. Two other gold coins complete the collection.
