Unesco patrimoine mondial - forbidden city

After stopping at Olympia in Greece, Mont Saint-Michel in France and Mount Fuji in Japan, the UNESCO World Heritage collection is making a stop in China, and more precisely in Beijing, where the 600th anniversary of the Forbidden City is being celebrated this year. An anniversary celebrated by the Monnaie de Paris with a series including a quarter!

Construite entre 1406 et 1420 au centre de Pékin, en Chine, la Cité Interdite fête ses 600 ans en 2020. Un anniversaire célébré par la Monnaie de Paris avec l'édition d'une série de monnaies sur lesquelles on retrouve une vue du Palais depuis la cour extérieur. Un gigantesque dragon, symbole de la puissance impériale chinoise, surplombe l'édifice. 

Emblematic coins

Built between 1406 and 1420 in the centre of Beijing, China, the Forbidden City celebrates its 600 years in 2020. An anniversary celebrated by Monnaie de Paris with the edition of a series of coins on which we find a view of the Palace from the outside courtyard. A gigantic dragon, symbol of Chinese imperial power, overlooks the building. A 1/4 euro Forbidden City in current metal is also available.
