Little iconic pixies, the Smurfs make their first appearance in the album of Johan and Pirlouit "The Smurfs and the Magic Flute" by the Franco-Belgian author Peyo in 1958. These little blue beings, all dressed in white, live today many adventures and try by all means to escape from the terrible wizard Gargamel.
The Monnaie de Paris pays tribute in 2021 to Peyo's work and to the hundred or so smurfs he could imagine, all of them with a different character.
This colorful mini-medal represents the Chef Smurf, which is easily recognizable by his toque and his apron. He is a real "cordon bleu". He maintains the Smurfs' greediness by preparing delicious Smurf Baba, pies, or pancakes.
