The Sower, Starter Kit 20th anniversary
Since 2014, Monnaie de Paris pays tribute to the coins that have marked the history of France with the collection The Sower. In 2021, the Starter Kit 20th anniversary and the release of the first euros are in the spotlight! On this occasion, Monnaie de Paris is reissuing a Starter Kit in a recyclable bag, and offers a collection of gold and silver coins that presents The Sower by Oscar Roty in a new setting…

Monnaie de Paris rewrites the starter kit in a recyclable pouch and restores the «fleur de coins» typing quality. These coins will be minted with a new corner and prepared to ensure a uniform minting and a more brilliant rendering than the current minting. The coins are packaged in a bag similar to the packaging of the first Starter Kit with on the back of the bag, the euro symbol and the logo of the 20th anniversary created by the Monnaie de Paris.

The rectangular shape refers to the Starter Kit format. The reverse shows two sowers accompanied in the background by 20 stars which represent the Starter Kit 20th anniversary and a reminder sun to the francs. The French flag appears on the furrows in heraldic form. On the face, we find the 40 coins of the Starter Kit with the « € ».

THE SOWER LIKE YOU’VE NEVER SEEN
The Sower in the background on the coin’s reverse side is the one we found «usually» on the francs, while the second in the foreground represents the original face of the woman who inspired Oscar Roty, Rosalinda Pesce. She appears for the first time on a coin. On the front, the 40 pieces that make up the Starter Kit are arranged in a spiral starting from the smallest value to the highest.
