Emblematic coins

This collection comprises 6 coins with two different designs. Two coins celebrate the 100th anniversary of the 1924 Paris Olympic Summer Games and 4 other coins feature Paavo Nurmi, a Finnish runner who won five athletics disciplines at the 1924 Paris Olympic Games. This athlete left his mark on the 1924 Paris Games by winning the 1,500 metres, the 5,000 metres and the individual cross-country race, earning him recognition as one of the greatest athletes of all time. The reverse, common to all the coins in this collection, features the emblem of the 1924 Paris Games, the coat of arms of the city of Paris and the boat, a reference to the city's foundation on the Ile de la Cité. The word ‘100 ans’ (100 years) also appears as a reminder of the centenary of the Summer Games in Paris.
