Aviation and History - Rafale

Dassault Aviation's Rafale is an omni-role fighter aircraft developed for the French Navy and Air Force. It entered service in 2002 in the Navy and the Aviation and History series is celebrating its 20th anniversary with gold and silver coins.

Emblematic coins

The front shows a Rafale in full approach with its landing gear deployed. In the background, the aircraft carrier can be seen at sea. The naval aviation roundel is inscribed on the perimeter. The signature "Rafale" is affixed to the naval anchor. The reverse side is common to the series, presenting two profiles of pilots surrounded by numerous aircraft in the sky representing different eras and uses.
