The Summer Olympic games that will take place in Paris in 2024 are the opportunity, for Monnaie de Paris to celebrate this major international competition through a series celebrating Sport, its values and the athletes. Olympism and Paralympism will be highlighted on those products, struck in France in our art workshops.
In 2023, we are developing a collection of medallions representing the 26 letters of the Alphabet illustrated by 26 Olympic and Paralympic sports.
After making its debut on the Olympic stage at the Nanjing Youth Olympic Games in 2014, skateboarding made its debut as a "new sport" at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. Skateboarding is also one of the four additional sports at the Paris 2024 Games. Athletes will compete in two disciplines: Park and Street and will have to perform the most beautiful tricks, meeting criteria of technique, speed and amplitude of their figures.
