The Summer Olympic games that will take place in Paris in 2024 are the opportunity, for Monnaie de Paris to celebrate this major international competition through a series celebrating Sport, its values and the athletes. Olympism and Paralympism will be highlighted on those products, struck in France in our art workshops.
In 2023, we are developing a collection of medallions representing the 26 letters of the Alphabet illustrated by 26 Olympic and Paralympic sports.
Shooting is a historic Olympic sport, present since the first modern Olympic Games in 1896 in Athens. There are three different types of shooting events: rifle, pistol and shotgun. There are also three shooting positions: kneeling, prone and standing. More than 100 nations send athletes to the shooting events at each Olympic Games.
The Collection
