    Description

    • Series that pays tribute to Johnny Hallyday
    • Limited mintage in 500 Tirage limité à 500 specimens

The face of the miniset represents Johnny Hallyday, then a young singer, posing for a photo shoot. Showman at heart, he is accompanied by his electric guitar which he will play for many years. The logo of the Monnaie de Paris as well as Johnny Hallyday's signature are also visible on this side, as well as the 8 coins arranged in a circle.

The reverse side is common to all the minisets. It shows the details of all the denominations present in this miniset. The grey bar at the top echoes the colours of the face. The representation in circle of the cuts is here visible on the reverse side. The logo of the Monnaie de Paris, the sign of Johnny Hallyday, and the copyright Born Rocker as well as the barcode and product information are shown on the left side of the reverse.

    The Collection

On the occasion of the second anniversary of the death of Johnny Hallyday, who died on December 5, 2017, Monnaie de Paris pays tribute to this monument of French rock with a range of new products. Our craftman

    • THE ENGRAVER

Trained at the best schools, they have the years of experience behind them necessary to master all aspects of the craft. Using industrial oil-based modelling clay and working from a design executed freehand or with CAD software, they skilfully fashion a low relief model in order to enhance the engraving and the way it catches the light. They work alternately with concave and convex plaster moulds until satisfied they have achieved the best 3D rendering of the design.

    • THE MINTER

The first minters began to ply their trade in France when striking with a hammer appeared in the 4th century BC. Nowdays, minsters use press instead of a hammer. Their knowledge of dies, engraving and metals, and their expertise - passed seamlessly down from one generation to the next for centuries - guarantees the excellence of their work.
