As part of Take Me (I’m Yours) exhibition by Christian Boltanski, Hans Ulrich Obrist and Chiara Parisi at Monnaie de Paris, Federico Nicolao, writer and philosopher, conceives a nocturne on Thursday 5th of November 2015, from 7 to 10pm, in collaboration with Joaquim Brissaud, Maï Ito Delhomme and Charli Tapp.

Joaquim Brissaud, Maï Ito Delhomme and Charli Tapp, visual artists and electroacoustic musicians who are part of the Research and Creation Workshop at ENSAPC “Lire dans les choses”, pay tribute to the open and evolving form of Take Me (I’m Yours). Charli Tapp creates sound installations and concerts scattered within the exhibition space. Echoing the show, Joaquim Brissaud activates his piece “Résonance fondamentale” : an interactive sound installation where the acoustic environment of an exhibition room is fragmented and then superimposed to create time-based layers. The sound events progressively disintegrate and reveal a fragile melody created spontaneously from the resonances of the room. In relation to Franco Vaccari’s work Photomaton, Maï Ito Delhomme interprets her pieces from the noise music album “Il cranio russo” based on translations in Japanese of poems written by Federico Nicolao.

Joaquim Brissaud is a visual artist and electroacoustic musician. His work conciliates the world of sound and that of volumes. By bringing together objects and entire exhibition rooms in his interactive sound installations, he creates sensory and immersive experiences that involve space and the sensitive relation to it.

Artist and experimental musician, Maï Ito Delhomme is interested in comparative literature and linguistic anthropology that influence her writin, together with her research on polyculturalism and autism. Inspired by Harshnoise and Pop bands, in close relation to Japanese folklore and contemporary classical music, she aims at elaborating a work made of sound collages and weavings of original jingles.

Visual artist and composer, Charli Tapp has drawn attention to his work in 2015 thanks to his performances and concerts at Villa Arson in Nice, at Boston Museum School of Arts and at Central Saint Martin’s School in London. Interested in installation as well as electronic music, he has founded the record label Amour/Ensemble. He surrounds himself with machines, samplers and synthesizers and proposes a meteorological, aerial and welcoming sound universe. Charli Tapp will propose MUSIC FOR DIAGONAL HALLWAY, a benevolent concert in the great staircase in variations on the themes of love and stairs.

Federico Nicolao is professor of theory of images and aesthetics at Ecole nationale Supérieure des Arts de Paris-Cergy and of theory and practice of contemporary art at ECAL in Lausanne. Former resident at Académie de France in Rome, translator of several French poets and writers to Italian, he has founded the magazine ”Chorus una constellazione” and he is the author of numerous essays on art and literature. He works currently on Aurais-je encore besoin de formes ?, a book based on Henri Marisse’s gouache and cut-outs.

Space Caviar is an international collective of designers and architects working at the intersection of technology, politics, design and architecture through exhibitions, publications and multimedia pieces, texts and films that reflect on production of spaces and contemporary modes of living as social practices.
Based in Genoa, composed by seven members and founded by Joseph Grima, Space Caviar has already collaborated with Charli Tapp on a project based on the video game Minecraft for Vitra Museum in Basel.

This event is in fact also a prologue for the exhibition “99 Dom-ino” that the same students from the Research and Creation Workshop at ENSAPC “Lire dans les choses” prepare with the international collective of designers and architects Space Caviar. The exhibition will take place with the collective of Joseph Grima and Martina Muzi from the 5th of May to the 5th of June 2016 at Galerie YGREC in Paris.
