The Women's World Cup is an international football competition that has been held every four years since 1991. On the occasion of this first edition hosted on its territory, Monnaie de Paris is developing a collection paying tribute to women's football players of the world.
The obverse represents a player making a pigeon wing. She goes through an hexagon to symbolise the hosting of the competition in France. In the background is the graphic chart of the competition.
