Throughout
this collection, Monnaie de Paris bring together symbols of the Games and of
France to immortalise their encounter.
2024 marks the arrival of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in France. It was obvious for Monnaie de Paris to highlight them once again through their representatives: the mascots. These fun and friendly little Phrygian hats are already familiar to the French and embody the spirits of the Games. This year, they symbolise the Games as they arrive and spread throughout France. A perfect reason to showcase the natural and architectural heritage that make the country beautiful.
On this coin, covered in
snow, the Olympic Games mascot looks astonished. Behind it, Mont Blanc is also
full of snow, and the pine trees scattered at its foot and on its slopes are
also decorated with snow. At the top of the mountain flies a flag bearing the
Paris 2024 logo. Above the mascot is a cable with cable car cabins attached.
