As we reflected on the legacy of Queen Elizabeth II, we realised that she represented far more than a royal figure: a constant presence, embodying elegance, attention to detail and respect for tradition. Behind every gesture lay a mastery passed down with patience and rigour. It is this presence, blending power and humanity, that inspired me to create this piece, as a tribute to a woman who left her mark on her era with simplicity and steadfastness.

The collection marking the 100th anniversary of the birth of Queen Elizabeth II comprises three collector coins and two commemorative coins of 10 and 100 euros, celebrating the monarch in all the richness of her legacy. Each design offers a symbolic interpretation of her life and reign. The obverse features a portrait inspired by one of her most recent visits to France, accompanied by her dates of birth and death, against a background of her royal monogram. The reverse depicts the major chapters of her life through three iconic headpieces: the coronation crown, the tricorn hat worn at Trooping the Colour, and the mechanic’s helmet from her service during the Second World War. In the background, the symbols of the United Kingdom — the thistle, rose, shamrock and leek — symbolise the unity of the nations.
