This collector coin marks the 55th anniversary of Walt Disney Animation Studio’s The Arisocats, in 2025.
In the grand Paris home of Madame Bonfamille, Duchess, a graceful white cat, lives with her three kittens, Marie, Berlioz, and Toulouse. Their owner, Madame Bonfamille, a retired opera singer, plans to leave her fortune to her cats, much to the dismay of her greedy butler, Edgar. Wanting the inheritance for himself, Edgar secretly sets out to remove the cats, though he’s careful not to harm them. Stranded far from home, Duchess and the kittens are rescued by Thomas O’Malley, a smooth-talking alley cat with no ties. In the end, Edgar gets a taste of his own plan when he’s accidentally packed into a crate bound for Timbuktu. Madame joyfully reunites with her cats and opens her doors to Paris’s alley cats, turning her mansion into a home for all.

THE ENGRAVER
Trained at the best schools, they have the years of experience behind them necessary to master all aspects of the craft. Using industrial oil-based modelling clay and working from a design executed freehand or with CAD software, they skilfully fashion a low relief model in order to enhance the engraving and the way it catches the light. They work alternately with concave and convex plaster moulds until satisfied they have achieved the best 3D rendering of the design.
THE MINTER
The first minters began to ply their trade in France when striking with a hammer appeared in the 4th century BC. Nowdays, minsters use press instead of a hammer. Their knowledge of dies, engraving and metals, and their expertise - passed seamlessly down from one generation to the next for centuries - guarantees the excellence of their work.
