Exceptional coin
The 1 kilo gold coin
LEARN MOREAndy Warhol had an intuitive relationship with money; this is what made Monnaie de Paris
chose the artwork "Dollar Sign" 1981 and use the artist's famous quote "Making money is
art". Each coin presents the famous "Dollar Sign" 1981 on the obverse with the 2011 year
date and The Andy Warhol Foundation copyright. On the reverse, an Andy Warhol's self-
portrait from 1964 appears with his birth and death dates (1928-1987). In the background,
we can read the quote "Making money is art". A reproduction of Warhol's stamp signature
on the gold coin further enhances the relationship between this great artist and his affinity
for money.
